1989 2.9 A4LD. when I reach 35-45 mph the trans seems to jump in and out of od.I either let up on the gas or accelerate and it stops. Fluid is full.was rebuilt approx 5 years ago.Any ideas? Thanks:sad:

mine used to do that also. mine was caused by 2 teeth broke on the spedo gear. i replaced the gear and it worked perfectally after. the broken tooth wasnt enough to mess up the spedometer but was enough to mess with the pcm. i dont know if that year was computer controlled for overdrive or not but its worth looking in to.

Most def check your vehicle speed sensor gear and the gear in the transfer case! I bet it's not even a transmission problem. That's exactly what mine did... And it was the gear in the transfew case.
