So I recently acquired a 94 ranger extended 2wd truck, it was shifting funny and I replaced the trans filter and put some fresh fluid in because the other fluid was burnt and now it won't move without revving the engine really high , once it engages it does fine until you come to a stop or let off the gas then it slips back out to nuetral, I already have the transmission out and on the ground, what I need to know is how easy is it to rebuild, I've never been inside a transmission but am mechanically inclined, and where's the information how to on rebuilding it? I've seen others have referenced an online manual, but can't seem to find the specifics, and more importantly, is the transmission worth rebuilding? Or can I find a successor to replace it? Just new to the ranger forums and the 4.0, any advice/answers would be greatly appreciated!
