a4ld draining/drain plug?

My tranny has too much fluid in it...
Is The only way to remove some dropping the pan? If so I guess i need to re-seal it after removing some fluid? Is it sealed with a gasket, or...?

Has anyone installed a drain plug into theirs? Care to provide some details? How big of a plug, where you put it... Maybe some pictures?

you could take the trans line off and let it pump it out.. just don't let it get to low..

Oh yeah? that sounds like a much better option... Which hose would I disconnect?

how much too full is it? most autos can handle as much as a quart or so over in my experience.

Well I want to add some Seafoam Transtune to it, but its already too full - probably by around a quart? Not totally sure...

and I figure adding that stuff to an over-full tranny will probably make it circulate poorly and shit, wasting my time and money.

Ok I've decided to just drain it and refill it, tranny fluid is cheap enough...
What do I need for that? Obviously a ratchet to take the bolts out... What about resealing it? Do I need a gasket, or is that usually done with sealant? What should I use to clean the gasket mating surfaces?

usually a gasket. might as well change the filter while you got it off. its not expensive.

If they are that cheap, than hell yes I will have to get one... I kinda figured a filter would be more than that, so I was going to get that changed when I take it into the shop for an alignment... But screw it. (My dads friend runs the shop, so I wouldn't be paying retail on anything, get a good price on the filter.)

might as well get the filter to for the other $10. i mean its one more bolt when you have the pan off already. and also that way you avoid reopening the gasket after it is sealed down to change it later.

Totally. I was thinking it had enough of a value to be worthwhile to wait for my mechanic's deal... but at $10 f*** that.

Sadly, Autozone prices do me no good up here in Canada... Everything is all crazy up here.

Since No one has asked this yet, I'm going to. You were Running it, in park, at operating temperature when you checked the fluid, as you're supposed to, right?

Just wanna make sure.
