Hello to everybody and no need to welcome me I have been in the background of this site for awhile. I got to say you guys give great info.

Now I dont mean to make anyone upset with this question, I've been searching for awhile and havent found an answer. Well I have a 1990 ranger 2.9l with a a4ld that wont go into forward gears. I also have a 87 2.9 ranger with the a4ld. I would like to take the trans from the 87 and put it in the 90 but it was the years they went from 2 wires to three. So my question is, Is it possible to go from three wire to a two wire tranny. I always hear people asking vice versa. I also was going to switch transfercases because one is manual and the 90 is electric and I would like manual.

Geuss I will try it in the moring and just wire a switch in for the lockup converter. Just what I would like to know if I dont hook up anything to the connector with it throw codes and not start or not drive. I found a 5 speed at the junkyard for 150. Would I be better off or is this a possible swap 2 solenoid to a 1 solenoid.

Have to swap valve bodys.

I will see how that goes thank you. You ment keep the tranny I have in it and swap v. bodies and see if it goes forward again right? Before I get it outta the 90 :icon_confused:
