I just saw this add on that has a braided hose that threads into the area where the factory dip stick and cap is. It runs up into the engine bay like a normal dip stick tube. Needless to say, it peaks my interest.

Spend a few more dollars and order the stick that MBS makes. Incredible high quality, form fitted to the Ranger, and the stick is pre-marked and the increments are identical to the OEM plastic dipstick.
