I think I broke my trac bar or something and my wheels are setting inwards, BAD! I need to either find a new trac bar or have one made. I'm not sure if it's the stock trac bar, a custom one, or an aftermarket one, but it looks like it has broke before because someone has tried welding it and burnt it completely up. Whoever did it sucked at welding. I just don't know what I am doing with the whole 4x4 thing and don't want to mess something up, I don't even know of a good place to start. Also, there is some kind of sway bar type brace that has came unbolted and one of the bolts have either hit a fuel line or the fuel pump because now I have a fuel leak somewhere?

Sorry for all the noob questions, I really have no idea what i'm doing?

Here are a couple of pics:

The red is where it broke

This is where the bracket came unbolted (red), and where it is leaking fuel (blue)

Thanks in advanced!!!

the section you have circled in blue is where the fuel filter should be, unless your truck has the secondary fuel pump located there, its hard to tell by the pictures. you probably have a broken clip on the pump of filter that is causing the lines to leak fuel. as for your broken mount, if you know what brand lift kit it is you could buy a replacement bracket from them or remove it and take it to a fab shop to have them fix/weld your existing one or make you a new one.

That looks like an old Rancho 2.5" lift that someone added onto the brackets, trying to make it taller. Those kits were exceptionally weak to begin with, the adding onto it just made the problem even worse.

What I would do is get a pair of center pivot brackets from a good company like Skyjacker to replace them. I would also recommend replacing your radius arms sometime in the near future as well because they aren't all that strong either (known for breaking right where the tube part meets the structural frame part where the shock goes through). Just about any other arm will have sufficient clearance for your tires too.

there is a fuel pump behind that cover. take that cover off and see what is leaking. i would bet it's a broken clip or line.

How will I be able to find one of the pivot brackets, just call Skyjacker? If I unbolt that and take it off will the axle come the rest of the way down? Do I need to put a jack under the axle if I take that bracket off?

Sorry for all the noob wuestions, but I want to try to get this problem fixed asap..

You'll need to have jackstands under the frame. The axle itself isn't real heavy, you won't need to jack it separately (if that's what you were asking).

Brackets are available separately through most Skyjacker dealers.
