A-pillar grab handle

I don't know how you get a tool in there... I've tried.

I just pull the trim on the same plane as the tabs go into the sheet metal.

They're just spring clips.

Don't over think it...

I was able to slip a screwdriver in, but it was a hot day in the junkyard, when it’s colder, that vinyl doesn’t like to flex

This tool works very well at sneaking in behind a trim panel to hook and/or leverage a clip loose without damaging the panel:

Officially it's called a "cotter pin removal tool", but it's my main go-to tool for removing a friction clip held trim panel.

2 of the bracket, put the trim on before the handle

That brought back a couple memories...

I do believe I used a plastic trim tool on the roofline clips... the a pillar clips I just pull it away from the a pillar.

So does this give you a grip on both sides of the door?

Thanks guys. I'm always scared to pull this plastic trim.

Any chance you could post the part number for the grab handle bracket? The pillar trim could be modified, Replacement grab handles are available, but that bracket... Not finding it and scrappers don't list it. For me it would be a 120 miles to roll the dice at someone else's scrap yard as none of my rangers have the handle, And I don't know about dragging another one home until I get rid of some.

the brackets are different left & right.
trim must match body style, reg cab or extended cab. they both fit the A pillar but not along the top/ceiling.
old trim can be made to work, but it doesn't lay flat at the top unless a hole is cut into it which exposes the bracket.
can't help on numbers.
