This is a first. I was in my office in my basement, and saw where a mouse ate a hole in the wall under the outlet. My guess is it fell down in the wall and was trying to get out.

This sucks. I have to figure out how it got in before I even start fixing the wall.

Hmmmm...I wondered where my deer mice got to...

Did you check your weep holes? There were getting in my basement through a couple at the front of the house...so I stuffed them (the weep holes, not the mice) with steel wool...that put an end to them getting in.

Got to laugh Jim, have had the same thing but with chipmonks. be thankful they didn't chew any of the wiring. Had one mouse in the first house get into an outlet and get fried, couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from. Have had squirrels in the attic alone with the bats that have come down the chimney. Joy of county living in an old house.

I've had a talk with the cat and placed him on probation.

I had a spot where mice were getting in and plugged it up several months ago. Apparently they found a new way in.

You need some of this.

Nevermind the cat, they're usually the ones that drag them in and play with them and turn them lose.

That cat has actually caught a bunch of mice before I found where they were getting in. He caught one a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't figured out how it got in.

That's good, my cats liked to bring them to the house and turn them lose LOL. Check your HVAC vents as well make sure there isn't a pipe that has fallen off to allow the critters in. Also, make sure your entry doors are sealed well, these mice seem to be able to crawl through the tiniest crack.

Your cats are a bunch of pussies (pun) mine always brought home snakes, but was no match for the cougar that got him, miss the dumb basturd

i had 2 barn cats, they killed a rabbit and were fighting over it. then one disappeared and the other one disappeared too. lolol

Don't feel alone Jim, we've had mice in the attic here for the past couple years. Still can't figure out how they're getting in, it's a new house that is all brick... Over solid concrete.... all the way up to the rafters.

Had a talk with the cat but he's still not doing his job. I think I'm going to promote my German Shepherd to mouse removal detail - he does a better job.

Start feeding the mouse peanut butter in small, confined space like a closet and put the cat on battle rations only. When you hear the bold mousey chomping on the PB, pick up the mouse hound and drop in there and let him do his job. Poison is great as long as you do the cleanup...if you don't other animals die from eating poisoned mouse carcasses, then another, etc., on up the food chain of opportunity. Works but ya gotta do it right.

x2 on the steel wool. stops them pretty good.

with animals especially the cat, i would not use d-con.

Set a few snap traps loaded with peanut butter or chocolate chips. that will get the ones that the cat misses... just put the trap out of paw's reach.

I don't have cats anymore either. No more animals for me period.

Uh, I have a cat that wants to devour my soul so.... But as for your mouse problem, time to pull out the shotgun.
