i have a95 2.3 ranger

theres one blot on the driver side at the very top of the bell housing i jsut cant get to anyone have any tips or anything on how they did this?

That same bolt on my 92 gave me fits. I unscrewed the inner wheel well liner from the fender and pulled it forward and held it with a bungee. I was able to get a 13mm wrench on the bolt with help of a jack handle and break it loose. I worked 4 hours on that one bolt. I felt like about 400 ft. lbs. torque on that thing.

A major bugger.

I had a similar problem trying to get the tranny out on my 92 3.0. eventually i ended up bending a wrench so I could get it square on the bolt . Still have the wrench for the next time too haha. Custom tools for ranger jobs.

gear wrench set from sears warnt. for life about 40 bucks but its worth it for that bolt, there just a reg. box wrench but they rathcet..

I don't know...I pulled my cab off and then removed the motor...much easier that way...what about dropping the tranny crossmember and removing the motor mounts...should give you a bit of clearance...if nothing else works...

I've done it from the bottom on both a '94 and '90 ranger, got more interesting when a front driveshaft is thrown in the picture...

I think on the '90 the bolt was super tight, I believe I ended up doubling up the wrench with another for some more leverage

I had the same problem on my 93. I used a long wrench and a small sledge hammer. I moved my egr pipeing and anything else out of the way. I put the wrench on and hit the other end down towards the ground, after a couple of hits , it broke loose. dont know if you are brave enuff to try this,, but it worked for me. Just make sure you use a good quality wrench and not some chepo one so you dont round the bolt head.

unhook the trans mount and jack it up some, will give you plenty of room

i got it i just put the wrench in there and took two exstensions and jamemd the extension somewheres and used it for levereage and just pushed down on the wrench with the extensions
