On the tire fitment page it lists 93-97 with a 2" lift, and then also has the fields that list "3-Inch Body Lift" for 32" tires and "3-Inch Body Lift And Fender Trimming" for 33" tires. Does that mean they will fit if you have a 2" lift plus a 3" body lift, plus fender trimming?

I have just installed a 3" body lift and I am wanting to get bigger tires. Will I need to install a front coil spacer and rear lift/drop shackles to run 33/10.50-15's?

Wow that was fast, thanks!

Even though it's only a 2wd? Will it rub while turning hard and hitting small bumps, etc.?

I stopped at walmart to check the prices on tires (I have checked at a lot of places) and I had them roll out a 31/10.50-15 just to see what it would look like, and the guy working there told me it might rub on hard turns when hitting bumps and then told me the story of the fender he tore off on his truck. Was he full of it?

oh, didnt realize yours was 2wd, sorrry! i would probably want 2" of additional lift then. your 2.3 might have a bit of trouble turning 33's as well. it will turn them, just not very fast, which you may want to regear as well. 31's maybe alittle more cost effective

if he was hitting a small tree or rock while going too fast in a turn on a trail, then he could have done that to his truck. but the cause would be him, not the bigger tires. it's not what you drive so much as how you drive.
most wal-mart stores will not mount/balance/install tires that are a different size than what was originally on your vehicle.
did you try here for tires: http://www.treadwright.com/shopnow/product/tabid/61/productid/60/sename/26575r16-warden-at-d.aspx
just a thought. and welcome to TRS.

actually, i had my 33x10.50 on without a body lift, it didnt rub at all with 4" offset wheels. you may be ok to put them on but it will probably look like this.....

thats a 4wd without a body lift, your 2wd with a body lift will be around 1" taller.

I want to buy a JY axle with 4.10 and hopefully a LS that has as low as mileage as I can find. According to this Tire Gear Ratio page, even if I keep my 30's for a while, a 4.10 (it lists 4.11 but close enough) gear will return me close to stock ratio. With bigger tires the 4.10 will be better than the 3.73.

Are retreads good/safe?

That pic looks good, I'd be happy with that. :) I have some later model factory wheels, and I want to keep them. What is the offset on my wheels?

Here's my truck now with 30/9.50-15's and BL:

Thanks for the replies! :)

there are some good feedback threads in the product review forum under tires/wheels. also here if you just search 'treadwright'. mine have been excellent and i don't think i'll buy anything else but the Treadwright tires really.
really nice looking truck you have there!!

I will look into those treadwright's. But, if the guy I just emailed hasn't sold them yet and calls me, I may buy some used 31" BFG A/T's off CL. He says they have 28,000 miles on them and he wants $150. We'll see... Until then I will still be shopping around.

Thanks by the way :) I looked and you don't have any pics of your truck...

there a few here, but you have to look in the RBV Photo Gallery. guess i should start an album, but i need more pics showing the things i've done to it first.

good luck with the cl find!

You should start an album. :) Your truck is in really good shape, it looks great! Hey, I searched the web for those treadwrights, and a lot of people wrote good things about them, but I ended up getting the 31's off craigslist. The guy sold them to me for $125. They still have decent tread, and he didn't abuse them, no curb rash, etc...

Here it is with the new(to me) 31's:

The 31's actually rubbed on something a little at full turn. Tomorrow I'm going to have someone turn the wheels so I can find out what the tire is rubbing on. Aside from the one time they rubbed, I like the BFG tires and they ride better than my old ones...

My next big project is definitely going to be swapping out the axle, for at least, 4.10 gears. With the 31's I can drive 55 mph in 4th gear and only tach at 2100 to 2200 rpm's. I can't put it in 5th gear going 55 unless there is no strong winds, and fairly level roads... Plus, taking off from a standstill is almost similar to taking off in 2nd gear in a stock ranger.
