I'm trying to find someone who has a c3 automatic from 83 Ranger (small), V6 2wd that can tell me the length of the dipstick from top ring to top of full cross hatch fluid area.
I helping out my young friend and his transmission dipstick is from a F-150 (confirmed that with Ford today) so it is no help at all. The trans is newly rebuilt and has minimal fluid in it but cooler and lines have been purged. When I get the 8 quarts (can someone confirm this too?) in the transmission, converter and lines if I knew the proper length, I can mark it on the dipstick he has and give us some point of reference. I don't want this trans to end up DOA like the last one. Running it low will burn it up and too much will leak and or cause foaming and probably distroy it as well. I don't want to do this swap again if I can keep from it.
Thanks in advance for any information.
