When I was flushing my cooling system the other day I noticed my A/C pump would click on and off kind of often. If I guessed it would short cycle for about 20 seconds then stay off for a minute or less then kick back on. is that normal? I never use my A/C (apart from defrost being on constantly) so I am not familiar with how long its supposed to operate.

Thanks in advance

You will have to put a set of gauges on it, but most likely you are low on freon

Depending on outside temp, put your A/C on high, it should be between 45-55psi....

im pretty sure it should stay on for a minute. but im not sure how long it kicks off for

It all depends on the air temp and humidity around you. In higher temperatures and humidity the ac cycle will be much longer and vice versa. What was the temperature when you were testing the system?

Found my ac cycling charts. These should help.

Alright I would guess it is probably normal then, Cause the hottest it normally gets is around 70 F and low humidity.

I'll check the pressure and see if its good to go or if its going lol
