Could someone tell me how much freon my 87 ford ranger would hold?

there should be a sticker somewhere under the hood that says how many pounds of refrigerant it takes. It may need to be converted to a r134a system to be recharged.

There is no sticker and we have already converted it over to r134. I called the local ford dealer & they were not sure but that it would not hold over 24 ounces. I just want to make sure that i have the right amount.

Have you read the sticky in the heat/a/c section?134a is charged less than r-12.Less 134a than if using r-12.

In an '87? That's both a wide range, and seems rather low.

Not all model years are the same. Read the sticker.

agreed. it should hold more then that.... just make sure u dont let any refrigerant in to the atmosphere

If the system is evacuated you want EXACTLY 24oz of R134a

2-12oz cans is a "perfect fill"
