I haven't noticed this before, when I have the heater on just the heater my AC clutch is engaging off and on. Is this normal? I have no idea this is my first ranger my last two trucks were a 2000 150 and a 97 250 both were really loud and may have covered the noise of the clutch engaging also had a couple more cylinders to help with the load of the a/c. anyone have a clue if this is normal?

This question comes up a couple of times a month. Whenever the heater is on defrost it cycles the a/c compressor to aid in de-humidifying the air and speeding up the defrost cycle. It's perfectly normal.
