A/C cold when ever it feels like it

If I'm driving on the interstate the a/c will quit blowing cold every now and then, about once an hour, blow hot for a while then start blowing cold again. when I'm driving in traffic it'll quit blowing cold a lot more often, several times in 30 min. If I get the rpms high it'll usually get the a/c blowing cold again for a little while but then it'll get hot again. any thoughts?

pressure switch or charge do you notice wether the compressor is running when you lose cool

yeah the compressor stays running the whole time.

look in the peep glass to see if it looks like a constant flow, or like it has voids... probably need to charge. go get a quick charge bottle with gauge from parts store.

You probably have moisture in the system. You'll need to have it vacced down, the leak repaired, and recharged.

Or your heater core is leaking a bit and causing the Evap. to freeze up, mine does this and I switch it over to Vent for a few min. till that quites blowing cold and throw it back to Max A/C. Regardless there is something wrong.
