99 v8 in a 96 ranger

iv got a 99 5.0 explorer engine id like to put in my 96 3.0 ranger and i was wondering if i could use a pcm from a 97 explorer to deal with the vss and pats problem id run into. also, if i can is there any problems id run into with the fuel system or anything else?

Computer part should be ok.... however, the fuel pump on the '99 would be a returnless (I believe) - the fuel pump in your truck would be set up for return-style.
