99 ranger wont idle

i have a 99 ranger with 3.0l flex it will not stay idling and wants to bog down every time you hit the gas. have system too lean codes for both banks. replaced fuel and air filter and spark plugs. i can also hear fuel pump turn on when key is on what could be the problem.

I have had this problem before.

hook up a fuel pressure tester and start the truck when you rev it up the pressure should rise.

if there is a pressure drop at high rpms with load, your fule pump is cloged at the strainer.

dirt and bigger debris can get in you tank due to a cracked filler neck. my clog was carpet strings, hair, small pebbles things I kicked up from the bottom of a mud pit.

I have seen water do the same thing when its in the tank.

replaced mass air and flushed out the injectors and the truck runs better than it ever has before
