hi, just finally purchased my first ranger today, 99 4x4 supercab 4door with the 3.0

anywho... i really like the truck, and only had it for about a day, but have over 100 miles on it :P

was just curious if maybe somebody could tell me if there is a big difference in the jet programmer and/or chip. from what i read those are the better ones

and if there is anyone close to me with the programmer for my truck :D

i live just north of Denver, CO.

thanks guys

no they are way to expensive for not alot of power. some good power adders are underdrive pullies, high flow air filter, headers, full brand new performance exhaust

put some snake oil in it! seriously though, its a 3.0l and it is what it is, a long running reliable motor. aside from bolting on a supercharger and spending wads of cash, you can do as metioned above (filter, under drive pulleys, headers, exhaust). aside from those things, if its not already equppied with an electric fan you can remove your clutch fan and install an electric one. this will lessen your rotating drag and free up some power.

I can attest to the fact that a cat back exhaust does give you a little more off the line scoot and when you have to punch it helps also, I could tell the difference 30 seconds into driving it.

well it has an K&N Filter on it, and a flowmaster exhaust, but may just be the muffler, havent looked too much under it, been to busy with errands... but tomorrow/today i am going to change all the fluids in the damn thing, and try to lube as much as i can, the previous owner didnt have that done, he only put 3500 miles on it in the year he owned it.
