I'm trying to decide to get a '99 ranger sport, regular cab short bed.

It has 4.0, 5-speed, and electric shift t-case.

I currently own a '96 ranger stx, super cab, and want to know if the t-cases are the same other than whatever is added on to make it electric shift. Basically, can it be made into a manual shift?

Thanks.

It can be easily made into a manual shift. The major thing you have to look for is if the shifter assembly mounting holes are in the driver side of the transmission tail housing.

You will need a new front driveshaft (you can use the one off your '96).

Everything else is bolt in.

there is nothing to it, unbolt the electric t-case and install the manual t-case.
