Im lookin to put a 99 explorer disc brake rear end in my lowered 89 ex cab ranger, i need some insight on what problems i will run into.

I know that ill run into problems with the tires hitting the fenders being the EX's rear is over 3" wider than my stock. i run 18" cobra r wheels with 275/40's on the rear. my plan was to pull the fenders out about 3/4" on each side. :icon_welder:

My question is do i need to use the flip bracket i have from djm to lower the truck or do the stock spring pack mounts on the EX's 8.8 make up for the rear lowering kit. the tech library show how to install it in a 4x4 but not a 2wd its my daily driver right now so i cant tear it apart just yet to see if it works.
What are the other problems i will have? brake lines? e-brake cable?

you can put it in with out the flip kit....but your truck will be LOW...but if you want around stock ride highth i would swap in some exploder leaves with it....the only problem i have ran into is the e-brake cable.... i did not have mine hooked up in the 87...but now the rear end is in the 97 and still not hooked up....just lazy

i have lift shackles for it so it wont to so low.
whos all going to the ranger meet on march 14th in centralia washington?
