We're replacing the ball joints in a 99 B3000. Got it all apart, need to replace a few items, not sure what to look for (or where).
Pulling the axle out of the hub, there was not only the conventional circlip (with ears and holes, the lower ring in the picture below), but outboard of that was what appears to be a spirolox retaining ring (the upper ring in the picture below).
That spirolox retaining ring was destroyed during removal... anybody know if that's a generic auto parts item or a dealer only item? And why should there be two retaining rings in the same groove? Or am I missing something and it's something else?
Second, the innermost seal, on the inside of the knuckle that seals against the axle... I assume that's just called an outer axle seal? Anybody know the part number?
