Just wondering.......has anyone made a set of solid mounts (engine + trans.) for a 98+ ranger with a 5.0 or 5.8 swap.

I'm probably gonna start making the trans mount this weekend then motor mounts the next. Just lookin for a good design thats strong if anyone has pics. I have a design drawn up n my head. I just figured i'd try to get some more ideas is all.

What's the intention for going solid mounts when you could use ones from a factory V8 explorer? If you use solid engine mounts you should use a solid transmission mount also. In a street vehicle this isn't bad other than more noise and vibration. Something you take off road not so good being you can get into some decent frame twisting. That with solid mounts makes broken parts, usually bellhousing and tailshaft extension housings. You need to have some give in those situations, especially if this is going to be for the truck you are launching in your picture.

So what mounts do i need to get if im not going to go solid? Any 5.0 explorer mounts?

The real issue i'm having is i keep taring my transmission mount in half and i figure going solid would fix that
