i just hooked up a cd player in my 98 ranger and now my dash lights and tail lights quit working does anyone have any ideas or helpful information :icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused:

Usually with both those being out it means you have blown a fuse.
 
Yeah when I installed my Pioneer deck into my truck, I hooked up the dimmer wiring as soon as I turned it on the dash and lights stopped working.

After unhooking the Dimmer wire, check the light fuses, I think they are 15A fuses.
 
Does anyone know which fuse it is i don't have the owners manual
 
I don't remember exactly which one it was... but I know there is one under the hood and in the cab for lights. You can always just get a multi-meter and test the resistance between each one.

Get a 3 dollar test light from harbour freight and find it. Check both side of the fuse and if one is blown only one side of the fuse will light up.
