98 ranger transmission troubles

I lost reverse and overdrive in my ranger....

I looked up the transmission on car-part.com and it only listed the 98 ranger as replaceable transmissions

I then put 99 ranger and I have a huge list of options

will the 99 ranger transmission work in my 98???

I thought the 98 was the same as the 99 and 2000

any help would be great

son of a gun... I just found out that the 98 transmission is a one year only transmisson.

what is the difference? is it just the bell housing?

i'm assuming its a 5 speed?
