So i have a 98 ranger 4.0l, 140,000, its a great truck and runs awesome up until recentlly. It seems that when i am driving and punch it into the passing gear tha tac will race up and actually cut completlly out going down below 0 rpm, this lasts less than a second and then goes somewhat back, it doesn over rev so i no the trani isnt slippin and its not throwing any codes. All the symptoms on mitchell added up to be possiblly the tps, so we tested it and it seems there were some dead spots in it, so i replced and the truck ran amazing for two days, now its cuttin out again. Do you think that was the problem to begin with or maybe something else all together??????????????????
