Recently purchased a 98 ranger and over next few years (I say years because it will be slow progress due to college). It already had brand new tires when I bought it so I will have skinny tires for a while. Had to replace all 4 ball joints and a left wheel bearing already. Will most likely have to get the trans rebuilt because it's messed up, going to try replacing the solenoid and hope that fixes it. Other than those the next thing will be some off road lights I might be able to get some 6" warn stainless lights for a great price.

Buffed and waxed today, next thing is undercoating the truck, gotta protect that clean southern truck from northern elements

Be careful on undercoating...it can actually cause your truck to rust faster if it is not applied right (moisture can get between the undercoating and metal and since it can't fry out, it rusts faster) and having an 18 year old truck with dirt and rust already under it will make it that much easier for the undercoating to not stick and give access to the moisture...

It might be better to wash the underside of the truck more frequently.

You can also pull the bed and put a rust reformer on the frame like por 15 to help out

Thanks for the tip, I I will be wire wheeling the frame then painting it and might just leave it with that. And I will be lifting the bed eventually to put a 3" body lift and will do something to the underneath of that

I wouldn't lift it on skinny tires. Save the lift for later. Go through the mechanicals and get it running well before modding it out. The more stock it is the more reliable and and less thirsty it will be Sorry if this is a buzzkill:D

Haha I know. It would look very silly. I need to save money for college. Eventually might do an engine swap (few years yet)

Trying to figure out what relay I need to install for the front fog light switch that's in the dash, if anyone knows thy would be great. If not then I will soon enough

transmission out, have new torque converter ready to put it, I hope that fixes it.

New torque converter in and transmission hanging, now just have to reconnect everything and hope that it fixed it . Tomorrow of course

Yesterday I got the two flood lights mounted and wired, for now it's wired into my brights but later when I get SPDT switch it will also be wore into that.

Mounted my fuse by drilling a hole in a metal bracket that was in the engine bay (bottom) relay was hook n loop Velcro to same bracket still need to do a little clean up on the wires but it works

Last few days I've been cleaning, painting, and undercoating.
