Hello everyone been a while,
Got a buddy with a 98 ranger reg cab 4x2 is there any direct swap options to a 8.8 rear? he's on his second 7.5 rear.
Thanks for any info
Ken

An 8.8 from a Ranger should swap right in.

'93-'09 Ranger 8.8", bolt in swap, though the axle shafts will be the same as in his 7.5".

An Explorer 8.8" will get him bigger shafts, but will require the leafspring perches on it be moved. Unless he's breaking shafts (not real common), a Ranger 8.8" should easily take care of most other issues.
