98 Ranger Swap????

Hi all new to the site but excited to find a forum that is passionate about the Ranger. I picked up a 4x4 ranger from a friend for $500 bucks and couldn't pass it up. It was in decent shape but didn't run! Cost me a little bit but figured out the problem and runs OK! Problem is that it is a 3.0 and seems to be underpowered! I looked for info on these questions and didn't find a lot so started a thread with hope of getting some solid answers!

In any case, I wanna swap it to a 5.0 and it seems like a 97 Explorer is the perfect vehicle to tear into for the swap.

My question is, can I use an 97 2wd explorer for the swap or does it need to be an AWD.

Does the 97 2wd explorer have the 4R70W trans that the AWD explorers have and will it be a problem mating it to the Ranger Transfer Case!

My Ranger is a 5speed. Will it be a problem converting it to an automatic????

Also, the explorers seats are in really nice shape! Will they just bolt into the Ranger fairly easily???

One last question.

I would love to get power windows in my truck. Currently has window cranks but are the hookups for power windows already in the doors just not currently utilized or do I need to upgrade the harness in the truck?
