I have a 98 ford ranger xlt 4.0 5 speed at least that's what it say on the friar support I just bought it and the flywheel wAs ruined teeth were worn out so I got a new one at the aristo parts store and it has a 8 bolt crank mount once I got mine out I found out it's a 6 bolt crank wich the auto parts store says is only on a 3.0 any advise would be greatly appreciated.

98 was the first year for the 8-bolt crank on the 4.0. It may be an older engine.

Post a pic of the bad boy so we can see it.
