does anyone know what front axle is in a 1998 ranger with ifs? i have a 98 3.0 and a 7.5 rear. just wondering if anyone knows?

it should be a D35 with straight cut gears. the gears will either be 3.73 or 4.10. I wish you needed one I have a front out of a 04 with 4.10 gears in my shed.

Yea I wish he needed one too, I have one with 3:73's in it and an extra set of 4:56's. I can't seem to get rid of them.

thanks guys i couldnt figure out what was in the dang thing! well if i do ever need a new one ill let you guys know! but thanks for the help! i got 33s on my truck and im gonna put 4.88 in the rear should i change the front as well?

Yes, you have to regear both front and rear axles if you plan on using 4 Wheel.
