Im looking at a 98 ford escort with a hole blown in the oil pan. The car was parked on a steep driveway, and died once it got to the bottom of the streetand when they started it again it blew a hole in the oil pan about the size of a quarter. There were little peices of metal stuck in the hole and on the ground, flat triangular peices. She claims she added another quart of oil to the engine, after an oil change, when she thought it was low, but she was parked on the steep driveway.
Was it the overfilled oil that caused it?
What all would need replaced besides the oil pan?
