So what all has to be changed over? or can I jus drop it in and go play? I seen the intakes are not made the same so do I need to use my 97 intake? allso is any of the 98 parts any better than the 97?

The 98+ intake breathes better, and they're both OBDII so I'd think in theory at least, it's pretty straight forward. All the 3.0's after 1994 were distributorles so that should be the same as well.

thanks man. Looks like i got another intake to clean up and polish. ugh.

If you do swap the intake you'll have to get creative to the air ducts to work. You can either swap in the 98 assembly which takes modifying the firewall/body for the airbox, run new ducting to the existing air box, or do something like switch to an open filter. I swapped a 98 intake into my 93 and opted to run new ducting to the existing filter box, it's a tight fit around the alternator/belt but it does work.

Well as far as wireing will the 98 plug right in and go? I am wanting to make somewhat of a custom intake/snorkle for this thing any how. And how much does the intake flow more than the 97?
