Hey. Just joined the site yesterday looking for some info on a project I've got going on. I've been away from home for a bit and while I was gone my bro started putting a new motor in his 1998 single cab 2wd Ranger. He got a deal on a motor/tranny from a 2002 ranger. He has got as far as getting it all mounted up, lots of wiring run, and apparently it turns over but will not fire.

Both of the motors are 3.0l. I have done some searches on doing the swap from 98 to 02. The best idea was to just use the long block of the new motor and everything else from the old one. But now the old motor/intake is gone.

Is there any company that makes a kit or something to make these to match up together. He says it's mostly the wiring wont connect from the new motor to the wiring harness.

I've thought about pulling everything and just doing a carbed v8. But there is so much work into it already that I would like to try and get the new 3.0l going before totally abandoning it.

Thanks guys.

Chris
