Welcome to TRS~!

Sounds like you have good plans for your truck and that is quite a bit of work you have slated for it. This is actually the introduction section so you won't get much in the way of pictures or help with specific problems.

There are, however, many places on this site to get specific answers. Many people have done suspension modifications as you described, and there is an engine swap discussion thread on here as well. The 2.5 to 5.0 has been done quite a bit (why, I will never know) and there is plenty of information here and many knowledgeable people that can give you the right advice as needed.

Only thing you need to do is put the questions in the right places on the website and usually within a few minutes or hours you will have more information than you will need to complete your modifications...

It's a great place to learn and share information...

Thanks for your military service and I hope you enjoy working on your truck!

How or what will you tow with this truck slammed in the weeds. You may want to rethink you drop/ plans for this truck. I have a mildly dropped s10 and will shortly be lifting my Bronco 2. I cannot slam the s10, cause I use it as a truck every now and then. Maybe think about dropping it 3" front and rear, so you will have some wheel travel if loaded. Just my .02.

I'm looking a pulling a aluminum tk1 trailer and put hd springs in rear for now while I have axle and off I found 1750 springs 4/1 leaf instead of factory 3 bar or two bar if anything I've got bags on a box truck idk we will see when I there but the shackles I'm getting r adjustable for now

wow u guys r great

im now looking at a 97 5.0 explorer and just doing the axle for now and then swapping over winter like instead of buying jus the rear end im thinking of just taking the whole thing to my house way to go craigslist but way to go this site im getting every detail but thinking about taking a shap shot of everything involved from stock to lowered to v8 and well im taking the explorers dash and seats too get r done
