New Irridium plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil and oil filter plus PCV valve.

Truck still doesnt run as it should, it idles rough and dies out, sometimes when you apply the brake the truck dies out.
The engine light is on so i will have to borrow an OBD tool to read the codes, most perplexing is after the plugs and wires were changed the engine ran perfect for about 20-30 seconds then starting the rough idling and cutting out.
Needing some expert opinions on what the culprit could be, food for though (the fuel guage is in-op).

thanks in advance for your replies.

fuel pump may be going or theres a vaccum leak

It could be the idle air control valve. Will it stay running if you give it gas. If it does then it's the Idle Air Control valve.

A few things to check. Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Press, Idle Air Control, and vaccum leak(s). Also checking up on that code will help get you in the right area.

Just got back from Harbor Freight, i picked up a Cen-Tech ODBll code reader, once i get my garage cleaned i will read the codes and see what it says.

Seems to be a little confusion on my part, looks like i went too many hour without sleep the last few days.
The problem i previously described is still correct but thier are some new variablse.

1. the check eng light is NOT on, its the Check Gage light.
2. my son adjusted the hard stop screw, so if someone can give me some guidance on how to set it back to specs it would be much appreciated.

Using the OBDll scan tool, there is no DTC or MIL codes.

The following did show NOT READY.
CAT
0S
H02S
EGR

When the truck is shut off for a while and restated is runs really well, but after about 30 seconds it starts to run rough and has a lot of engine vibration, there sounds like an exhaust leak but i could not find one anywhere, Cat converted sounds loud though

I love when people get a really cheap code checker. A good scan tool will give you pending/ history codes to go off from if the engine light came on or will come on, lol my master tech cost about 5 g's and the tech 2 with Isuzu NPD/NPR cost me around 8 g's so you can see a difference here. What gauge is it asking you to check, oil, fuel, temp, gas.

The fuel gage is the only gage not working.

went to Napa they had 3 scanners over 100 dollars that have been on the shelf for 6 months, Kragen/Oriley had their most popular $69.00 sold out, went to Autozone they has a several from $59.00 to $219.00, walked across the parking lot to harbor freight and found one for $43.00.
All the scanners over 3gs were sold out long ago, heheheheheh:yahoo::icon_rofl:

Thanks for replying, any help is welcomed and appreciated.

run my own auto and diesel shop, lol you dont even wanna know how much heavy truck scan tools are. You need to get data sream info to go from here, you might wanna go ahead and go somewhere to get it looked at.
