Will the flat glass fit into a '97 XLT supercab that currently has the sliding assembly? I need to replace it.

To the best of my knowledge, all supercab rear windows are the same 83-11. I don't think I've seen a solid rear on a supercab. I know I pulled the slider from a much newer truck to replace one on my last truck. Somebody had tried to fit an S10 window in it.

Yes, that was an option, it's what my '97 has... the only thing you have to do is find one from an extended cab from '86(first year) through '11 or regular cab starting in '98 when they used the same rear window on both styles. They bolt in so you need to take the trim off or mostly off and get a 9mm wrench I believe it is to get it off. Oh, and you'll need some butyl rope to reinstall the window.
