97 to 2000 difference from cat back?

ive seen some catback exhaust fairly cheap on ebay lately, but a kit for my 2000 ranger is almost a 100 more than a 93-97 kit. i thought the exhausts were the same except for the cats n the o2 sensors tho? so would i be able to run a 93-97 kit, or is the ebay site correct in saying it wont fit?

i think where the tailpipe hangers are is different.

so making it work would just be a matter of fabbin up some new hangers?

can anyone confirm this? I see a good price on a system for a 98-2012 ranger, can't see why it wouldn't work on my 94.... anyone know of any differences?

So I spent a few hours comparing lots of pictures online, and the ONLY difference I've found is the location of the exhaust hanger near the gas tank. On my 94 it is forward, at the rear of the cab, but on 98 and later models Ford moved it back so it is bolted onto the middle crossmember, and thus higher up. That means on the cat-back systems the hangers are built above the muffler, but on the older systems the hangers needed to be placed in front of the muffler, and lower.

I don't think this is a big issue so I'm taking the plunge and ordering the system that they say is only going to fit the 98+ models. My plan is to use a hanger from a dodge that will wrap around the pipe and allow me to use my stock forward exhaust hanger location without any modification to my truck or the cat-back.
