My son and I installed new brake lines and hoses on the front of our 97, 3.0, 4X4 Rangers with Rear Anti-Lock Brakes. Prior to this, the line broke yet NO lights were on. After installation and bleeding, the ABS and emergency brtake light remains on after starting. WHat could have happened? By the way, the brakes seem to function well.

I checked the forum and no one had the exact same issue.

bad abs sensor? you would think though that if that was it the light would have been on before.

Did you bleed the brakes just at the wheels or did you also crack open the lines up on the master cylinder? I know that in the past from previous experience with the Ranger/Exploder cylinders, the way the sensor is set up, air may get trapped in the cylinder and may not be able to freely escape from the top, causing the RED Brake light to illuminate. Try bleeding from the side of the cylinder as well and if nothing, let me know.
