Purchased a used motor and installed it 2 weeks ago. Truck had sat for 2 years. Motor i purchased is supposed to have 43K miles. Started right up. Has what I believed to be lifter noise. Put some Marvel Mystery oil in thinking that motor may have sat and lifters were sticking. Took to dealer and they pilled the valve covers and could see no problems. They checked the compression and found that #4 &6 were 120 lbs. The rest seems to be OK. Right now motor is running rough with no power and occasional backfire. I did pour 2 cans of sea foam in the gas tank with 5 new gallons of gas added to 1/4 tank of gas that had been sitting for the 2 years. Thinking that I might change the fuel filter. Any ideas on the low compression? I did put in new plugs but not new wires. I'm trying to determine if the problem is with the motor or something else. I woud lprefer not pulling it and sending it back to where I got it.
