After a LONG absence here, I am back and ready to start wheeling again. With my 97 being in pieces for the last 15 years and no time/money to finish the 1 ton axle swap any time soon, I am looking to get another stock/lightly modified 93-97 Ranger 4.0 and build an upgraded version of what.my 97 was before I tore it apart.
Here's my question. I have found a couple complete Ranger 4.0's with transmission issues that I can get cheap. One is a 94 with 4.0L auto which is a A4LD. The trans in my 97 should still work great, but I know it's a 5R55e. Is it possible to put the 5r55e in place of the A4LD? I have everything available from the 97 except the engine is locked up from sitting.
Any help/advice you can offer would be great.
Thanks
