i have been searching for info on this swap and have a couple of questions
my goal is to swap the 5r55e from my 97 ranger ( 4.0 , 4x4 ) into a 95 explorer (4.0 , 4x4 )
so far i have only read about newer swaps ( like 98 and up )
since the ranger has obdII , will that be a problem with the older explorer ?
also the two trucks have different front axles and im not sure if they have the same t-cases . the 5r should work with the explorer-case ( assuming it might be different than the rangers ) ?
one last thing ,before i start taking trucks apart , is there anything i should try with the 4r? apparently it work fine for 15-20 miles , then the o/d light comes on , trans starts slipping/won't shift but you can get it to shift by working the gas pedal
any help is appreciated
