97 2wd ranger tranny problems

i have a 97 2wd ranger. it is lifted and has 31in tires on it. i have been having problems with the transmission and have had it rebuilt. it is in the shop again for the tranny again and the mechanic said he can rebuild it again but it will just go out in a month or so. he said it was because of my tires and lift. is there anything i can do? any transmissions that are stronger and can handle the lift and tires that will bolt right in? please let me know if you have any ideas. (he suggested a manual, will that work?)

What part of the trans is failing ? did he say

he didnt say. i will have to ask him. later this week im going to talk to him more about it. any thoughts or guesses on what it might be?
