My 2.3 rolled over 200K a while ago, it is till going, just not quite as strong as it used to. I want to rebuild it soon before something goes wrong. Any suggestions on where to get a good rebuild kit? i know about "Northern Autoparts". Bur thats about all I can think of. amy other outfit i find just seems kindof fishy to me, any comments help, thanks

If you're looking to do a complete rebuild, make sure you get your engine "miked". Last time I went looking for the same type of kit, I was asked about that. Apparently it is how far out of tolerance your motor is and how much adjustment is needed for the new pistons/rings/cylinder sleeves, or whatever. If this isn't accurate, please feel free to correct me. I'm curious as to whether or not the guy was just blowing smoke...
Anyway, kits should be a dime-a-dozen at most parts houses. Just beware of amateurs working at parts houses just for a paycheck...

thanks, I have never heard of having an engine "miked" before. I wonder if that is just someones word for haveing the tolerances checked and helping to decide if you need to bore it out or not, i planned on boring it a little over, not so much for power as just to start over fresh

We just got a kit for our 2.5 from Flatlander racing and it was a good price. We got pistons, rings, bearings, pins and gaskets.Brand name stuff,Sealed Pro,Hastings,Clevite and Felpro.I think it was about $280 or so with shipping. We ordered a set 40 over and std bearings.I would just order a kit in 20 over and when it comes in,pull my engine, strip it,take it to the machine shop, have it hot tanked, bored and honed and have them hang the pistons. My shop did it all for $130
