back in June of 2010 I had the truck in for look at a minor problem and the guy calls and asks if I noticed any thing wrong with the clutch, obviously I told him no, but he said that i needed some work. A new clutch kit and slave kit had me rolling down the road. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the pedal felt a little spongy but didnt think too much more about it. I go to leave for work the other day and get to the end of the street and the dam thing wont go into gear.

I get it limped back to the house and took a look around, no fluid or anything lost. Now here is the crazy part. With the engine off, I can run thru the gears with no problem. When I start it, the clutch will not engage. I have to push it all the way to the floor just to move the vehichle. What im saying is the the pedalisallthe way to the floor and it moves, when I let up it stalls

I could understand if i beat the hell out the thing but its a daily driver, so no bumps, ruts, offroading or anything like that.

If anyone can give me any insight on to what may be wrong, please post!! I need my truck back!!!

It sounds as if there is air in the clutch line.I would bleed the system.

Seriously?? 38 people look at this post and i get 1 reply?? How couldd air get in the system after that long??

Ok, maybe i need to be clearer. With the engine offf, i can run thru all gears with no problem. With the engine running, i cannot remove it from first to select another gear. While in gear with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor the truck moves, when i let up on the cluutch pedal it stalls. Hope this clears aome things up and i get a bit more feedback. Sorry about the earlier post, as stated in the subject line, i am at my wits end

If you put it in neutral and let up on the clutch, will the truck move or stall? I'm wondering if the transmission is stuck in a gear even though you can move the shifter.

Try checking the mount for the clutch pedal under the dash. These have been known to crack and prevent proper engagement/release of the clutch.

With the pedal fully depressed, does the transmission grind gears when you shift it from gear to gear or when you try to engage one gear?

Thanks for the response. When it is idling in neutral the truck does not move. Whem the. Clutch pedal is fully depressed, i can not shift gears. When im idling and try to put it in any gear it will not go int gear. The only time i get a grinding noise is when i go from neutral to reverse. I dont even get it into reverse and it grinds

If you just blip the throttle lightly at a stop does it make it easier to get into gear?

I have recently been having similar problems with my 87 and found 2 things.

1) The master is leaking inside the cab

2) My firewall has a LOT of flex to it.

The first problems probably has a lot more to do with it and I don't suspect firewall issues as much for you because the firewall reinforcement was redesigned to actually work in 95.

Parts wear out,you asked for an answer.I told you what it sounds like. It's possible your slave is going bad or master. The easiest thing to do is try bleeding the system. What you described is what happens when air gets in the line. You do not have enough pressure to fully dis-engage the clutch when it is running. That is why it will stall. There is also the possibilty that something is wrong with the pressure plate.Start looking and go from there.I would try to bleed the system first.

Wow, really? Would you like the other 37 people to lead you down the wrong path? JC 97 had a great recommendation, I'm betting he's right.
