Question for all you guys.... Im thinking of putting in 2 10" Fosgate subs in a ported enclosure and making a "Pass thru" from the front wall of the bed into the rear of the cab. The only reason that im going this route is that I still use the jump seats and creating the box i really want is going to weigh as much as a casket and leave no practical room !!

The only concern that I have is that is there any wiring i would cutthru if I did it this way?:icon_confused:

I have the water proofing figured out as I wil just buy some gasket surround to cover the edges of the opening and plan on using Herculiner to weatherproof the sub box.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated !!

seems like an awfully permanent solution. The only problem I can think of might be the cab and bed flexing differently but it might be insignificant. Would probably be a good idea to get a tonneau cover instead of just herculining the box

ok here goes

there is no real wireing to speak of.

x2 on the cover.

also your cab and bed flex independently so you have to flot the box. or have a big gasket in the cab and attach the box to the bed.

i would make your box from mdf then cover it in fiberglass. then maybe line it if you would like.

and its just me... but if your going thur the labor to do this use better subs then RF

I was thinking about that as well. Plus I need to figure out a good way to mount it to the bed, we wouldnt want any five finger discounts !!!

Poor opinion on RF ??

I dont like them one bit to be honest. they were good in the early 90's but they havent keep up. on a non bias note there there entry level subs. and with the work, time and effort your about to put out (if you do it right) will all be cheepend by RF subs. this is a one time thing really. and going ported is even more so. for the kind of work to do it you will want it to last. and i dont think RF has the quality to last anymore.

if i was going thur this i would go all out. PM rjppunk he gets to play with HHHHHIIIGGGHHH end stuff more then i do. he could proly get something in your price range.:icon_thumby:

just a lonely installer here the i can help you out all up to about focalish range. but id even do better then them if were my money.
