I have a 96 splash ranger I am putting a 5.0 out of a 96 explorer in. Everyone I have talked to said it will hook right up.I have the harness and computer from the explorer and I am running a c-4 trans everyone I have talked to said some of the pins might not be the same for the dash and stuff talking about the small 40 pin connector at the back of the engine.will it hurt to start the engine before I get all that worked out or will it burn up something and does anyone know what pins to swap or change any help would be appreciated.
Thank You:icon_confused:

You should not have to go beyond the firewall for any wiring, some have and really regretted it. Several here have done that wiring swap and can help

Plug and play. The only wire that is changed (and not required) is the tack wire behind the instrument cluster. Your tack will read as is, it will just read incorrectly. Unplug the 42 pin plug at the engine, and unplug the altenator harness under the brake master cylinder. You will need the V8 altenator harness, but it also plug and play. Check my build thread out for details, everything you need is in the first post :icon_thumby:
