it is what it is
ok just bought a 96 ranger. i may feel dumb for asking this. the old transfer case motor went bad and was stuck in 4low. bought a new one turned the tcase shaft to 2wd position and put the new motor on. dash still says im in 4lo no matter what. when i put it in 4wd and lock the hubs the front shaft turns as it should. i dont think the tcase is going into 4wd though (even though it still says it is) when i turn the switch. i have a detroit locker in the front and rear. SAS 44HP/9" combo...and i can barely get the tire to come off the ground when testing the vertical against a tree. any ideas?
