I just got a 96 ranger cheap ,it had no belt tensioner on it or belt they broke off, I replaced them and it is now blowing antifreeze out of the exhaust and if i hit the gas it blows it out of the radiator cap if it is removed, The front two cylinders on the pass. side had antifreeze on the plugs, Im figuring it blew a head gasket or cracked head, maybe intake gasket? any ideas before I tear it down tomorrow?:icon_confused:

sounds like a cracked head or head gasket i'd do a compression test before tearing it down so you know which cylinders to look closely at althought the anti freeze on 1-2 is probably it check gaskets then heads they dont always just crack on the piston side

sounds like head gasket to me, do a leak down if you've got the equipment, if not then a compression test will suffice.

head gasket for sure. good luck with that.

WEll, did the compression test all were 175,the two with the antifreeze were 50 and 75,I tore it down and sure enough the gasket was blown between those two cylinders, dropped the heads off at the machine shop to have them pressure tested and checked for warpage ,hoping for the best.
