96 ranger 2.3 with P0302 code

Well I've been busy finding another ranger since two weeks ago since a drunk driver spun a van into my 97 ranger killing the old girl on impact.. Picked up a 96 2.3 ranger tonight and forgot to grab my reader before buying it and pulled up a cylinder 3 misfire... I'm hoping it just needs a tune up and nothing serious... Any other hints to why it threw this code? When I bought my 97 a couple years ago I had a #3 misfire and eventually tore the head off to find the exhaust seats sunk on them... Hoping this truck isn't gunna be that same 7 hour issue again... Didn't notice it missing on my 20 mile drive home tonight at all... Thanks for the input guys

Did the CEL come on or is the P0302 in the history/memory
Could it already have been dealt with, since you didn't notice a miss.
