96 Head unit in a 99?

Does anyone know if a stock stereo from a '96 Ranger will plug into a '99? I have the opportunity to pick one up relatively cheap, but don't know if the plug is different between the years.

i really belive its the same plug.
i installed the radio from my 99 on my moms 03 and i just plugged it.
mine was a dual media, and she had the basic radio. so in my opinion its the same plug.
cant u try it before u pay it?
